HELP US TRACK REMAINING POPULATIONS!
Lady beetles, often called ladybugs, are important insect predators that feed on landscape and agricultural pests. Unfortunately, some of our native Ohio lady beetles are in decline.
The BLBB survey ran 10 years ago and returned last summer to see how populations had changed over a decade. We are seeking volunteers across the state to help study the lady beetle community again this summer.
To participate you must have a home garden (either a flower or food garden). Lady beetles will be collected using a yellow sticky card trap in your garden over two weeks (one week in June and August).
Workshop participants will learn about the results of our initial survey and be provided with all the tools and training needed to contribute to the 2026 survey.
